That can be an interesting question for the long term business owner. For the newer business, one starting the last 5-10 years, the answer is quite clear – YES. For the more established business or the “long term” business, the answer is an absolute YES!
So why is Social Media for your business? It is because the advertising age and customer age has driven the interests and habits to the internet. People message, tweet, post and then get a cup of java in the morning as I am doing at this moment. Your customers and your prospects are in the cloud, on Twitter, on LinkedIn, using Facebook, Pinterest and the like. In years past, you advertised in trade publications, newspapers and printed flyers that got distributed via mail (and I am not speaking of e-mail here). You spent revenue on providing that hard literature and samples and those funky spongy characters that were found on peoples desks. Those days are all but over. In order to survive today, it is necessary and essentially required that you have an internet presence. Internet presence means a social presence, or a social stream in which your prospects, customers, associates and vendors can communicate.
To keep this a bit shorter than usual, I’d like to hear your ideas on which social channels and web channels you find interesting for your business growth – let me know in comments.
I will share some ideas on how you can get started without allowing the internet to become for you one of those, revenue drains. Doing internet correctly pays off, doing it wrong is no less than an automated way to relieve yourself of funds and look foolish in doing so.
As a Business Coach, Consultant and Contact Manager specialist, I can help you develop a workable plan for introducing your business into this Social World while developing understandable approaches and checkpoints to ensure you are maximizing your returns.
